Psychological Services for Victims of Crime in Victoria

Self Growth Institute provides psychological therapy and related clinical services for clients accessing funding through the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS), formerly known as VOCAT.

We work collaboratively with legal professionals, victim support services, and case managers to support clients who have experienced violent crime and require psychological treatment.

Our Service Model

We provide structured, trauma-informed psychological services for Victims of Crime, including:

  • Ongoing psychological therapy

  • Trauma-informed assessment and treatment planning

  • Psychological treatment summaries and progress reports (within scope)

  • Collaboration with legal representatives and support services when appropriate

Our clinic is experienced in supporting clients funded under FAS and understands the clinical and administrative requirements associated with these referrals.

Our Clinical Team

Our team includes:

  • Fully registered psychologists

  • Provisional psychologists

  • Registered counsellors

All clinicians working with Victims of Crime clients are experienced in trauma-informed care. Clients are allocated based on clinical needs, presentation, and the type of support required to ensure appropriate and ethical care.

Referral Process

We accept referrals from:

  • Law firms

  • Victim support services

  • Case managers and support coordinators

Reports & Professional Communication

We can provide psychological documentation related to treatment, including:

  • Treatment summaries

  • Progress reports

  • Reports required as part of FAS-funded psychological care

All reports are completed within our professional scope of practice and focus on treatment, engagement, and clinical presentation.
We do not provide legal opinions, determinations of liability, or advocacy.

Report scope and timeframes are discussed and confirmed at the time of referral.

Capacity & Intake

Self Growth Institute is structured to support ongoing and high-volume referrals for Victims of Crime clients funded under FAS.

We prioritise timely intake, continuity of care, and clear communication with referring professionals. Our team-based model allows us to respond efficiently to referrals and to complete agreed clinical documentation within appropriate timeframes.

Intake and allocation are managed promptly by our admin team to minimise delays for clients requiring psychological support.
