Phil Greenway

Psychotherapy is a process of learning new and more effective ways of relating to ourselves and others. Many of the behaviours and patterns we learned in childhood through relationships with parents, relatives, friends, and teachers do not always serve us well in adulthood.

In therapy, individuals discover their personal style of relating and attaching to others and begin to develop healthier interpersonal skills, emotional regulation, and self-understanding. A key focus of psychotherapy is building a stronger relationship with oneself. By learning to regulate emotions and impulses, clients can enhance wellbeing and discover constructive ways of living.

Modern research highlights the importance of the adaptive unconscious—the store of knowledge and skills accumulated over a lifetime—in solving personal challenges. Developing awareness of these processes allows people to overcome difficulties, strengthen relationships, and foster personal growth.

This therapeutic journey is not only psychological but also deeply personal, encouraging maturity, wisdom, and resilience.
