Victims of Crime Support – Funded Psychology (FAS / VOCAT)

Psychological Therapy for Victims of Crime in Victoria

Compassionate and Accessible Psychological Support for Victims of Crime

If you have been affected by a violent crime in Victoria, you may be eligible for fully funded psychological support through the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) — previously known as VOCAT.

At Self Growth Institute, we provide trauma-informed, confidential, and professional psychological support to help victims of crime recover and rebuild their lives. We actively support clients accessing FAS funding and can assist you to engage in therapy as soon as possible.

What Is the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)?

The Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) provides support to people who have experienced physical, emotional, or psychological harm as a result of a violent crime in Victoria.

Funding under FAS may include:

  • Psychological counselling and therapy

  • Approved psychological treatment plans

  • Psychological reports related to treatment

  • Support to assist with recovery and wellbeing

The FAS program replaced the former Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) in 2023, though many people and professionals continue to use VOCAT terminology.
